Carpenter


We are looking for an experienced Carpenter to join our team (with a view to becoming permanent for projects around NSW). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing general carpentry work throughout all stages of the project.

Duties and responsibilities
Work with site and project managers to complete onsite works. Compile order list for materials required to complete works. Ensure all works are compliant with the BCA. 

Your responsibility

Working across multiple projects within surrounding areas your main responsibility on site will include:

  • Supervising other staff and sub-contractor.
  • Carpentry, including structural work.
  • Work with a team and independently.
  • Ensure that the construction program is adhered to and the project is delivered on time, on budget and complies with the specifications.
  • Manage workflow.
  • Manager material deliveries.
  • Work in conjunction with on-site sub-contractors.
  • Take a hands-on approach to carpentry work where needed.

Skills and experience

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience.
  • Trade qualified carpenter (essential).
  • Working knowledge of the Residential Building Industry.
  • An understanding of OHS, regulatory skills.
  • Strong communication & time management skills.
  • Passionate about building and residential construction.
  • Ability to read detailed plans.
  • Current OH&S White Card.

Key experience

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience with Carpentry or a related trade background experience in estimating, scheduling and supervising trades and repairs (insurance related is preferred).
  • A working knowledge of Australian Standards and Tolerances and WH&S.
  • Previous experience with scoping and report writing is essential.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to ensure the highest quality of finishes from your trade team.
  • Excellent computer skills in all Microsoft products.
  • A high level of communication with different stakeholders and staff is required in order to be successful within this role.
